Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino on exhibt at Palazzo Strozzi
The 8th of March will see the beginning of the exhibition in Palazzo Strozzi dedicated to two artists who worked in Florence according to the “modern manner”: Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino.
This will be a chronological path showing the works of the two disciples of Andrea del Sarto who started from the same workshop but followed diverging, artistic life paths.
The approximately 80 works on display come from Tuscan and International museums. These works include panels, drawings, tapestries.
On the occasion of this exhibition, there will be the presentation of the large altarpiece called The Visitation by Pontormo, completely restored.
The exhibition includes advice to admire the works by Pontormo and Rosso also in Florence and Tuscany, in an interesting artistic path. Visiting paths for children and personalized visits for families are also available.
From the 8th of March to the 20th of June at Palazzo Strozzi from 9am to 8pm, on Thursday from 9am to 11pm.
